We're asked about cost more than any other question, and we understand why. A destination wedding is a leap. Here's the shape of it, without prices — because a real number for you only comes out of a real conversation.
A wedding in Croatia usually costs less than the Amalfi Coast, more than Mallorca, and roughly the same as a comparable wedding at home. The setting is the part that isn't comparable.
What the budget is made of
- Venue — private villa, stone house, winery or boat
- Catering and drinks — almost always the largest single line
- Flowers and design — from restrained to elaborate
- Photography (and sometimes film)
- Officiant — in English, German or Croatian
- Music — an acoustic duo, a DJ, or both
- Planning — us, from first email to the last guest home
What actually moves the number
- Season — July and August are noticeably more expensive than May or September
- Island vs. mainland — islands mean boat transfers for people and equipment
- Guest count — catering is linear; venues often are not
- Length — a welcome dinner and a brunch don't double the bill, but they feel like a whole extra day
Where we tell couples not to cut
Photography. The officiant. And the food. Croatia has excellent kitchens, and the gap in price between a decent caterer and a great one is surprisingly small. The gap in the experience is not.
