About us

A couple. A coast.

Anita and Chris Weber-Suk — between Berlin and the Adriatic.

We are Chris and Anita Weber-Suk. Anita is from Croatia — she plans on the ground and translates between the languages. Chris is from Germany — a skipper who takes care of everything on the water. We split our time between Berlin and the Croatian coast: mostly on the water in summer, between a flat in Berlin and a small stone house by the sea in winter.

Over the years you learn which places stay quiet when everywhere else is full. Which islands settle down in the evening. Where to drop anchor when you don't want noise.

At some point, friends started asking whether they could celebrate there too. That's how it began.

What we do

VALUNA organises small celebrations at sea. Some last a single evening. Others a few days.

Weddings with twelve guests. Bachelorette weekends where nobody wears a plastic tiara. Birthdays that afterwards nobody remembers in full.

The sea does part of the work.

How we work

  • In English or German. On the ground, in Croatian.
  • A small number of projects per season. We're there on the day.
  • No packages, no mark-ups on supplier prices.
  • Only places where we've eaten, stayed or dropped anchor ourselves.

Why bilingual matters

You talk to us in English or German. Everything on the ground happens in Croatian. Nothing gets translated twice, no supplier has to guess what you meant, and small misunderstandings that would derail a day never reach the day.

What we believe

There are easier ways to get married. Restaurants. Hotels. Rows of chairs. Or you take a few people out to sea and see what happens.

Most people stay up longer than planned. That happens quickly on boats.
