A boat wedding is the most honest way to marry on the Croatian coast. No hall, no seating chart, no DJ shouting over the room — just a boat, the sea and the handful of people you actually want there. Most of ours are between two and twenty-five guests. Under sail rather than under engine, whenever the wind allows.
What this looks like
We plan it end-to-end: boat and captain, officiant, food, flowers on board, photography, and the small things that decide whether the day works — where to change, where to put the rings, when to raise the sail.
- Sunset boat ceremony (2–6 people) — a classic sailing yacht, an officiant, a quiet toast as the light drops
- Day wedding on a gulet (15–35 guests) — a traditional wooden boat, ceremony mid-morning, lunch in a hidden bay, dancing at anchor
- Three-day island trip (10–20 guests) — arrive by boat, marry on day two, breakfast on the water before flying home
Routes we love
Hvar → Pakleni Islands → Vis → Biševo (Blue Cave) is our standard three-day loop. For a single day the Pakleni Islands off Hvar are enough — five square kilometres, barely any buildings, clear water. In the south the Elaphiti Islands give a similar feeling on a shorter run.

Common questions
Can we legally hold the ceremony on the water?
Croatian law treats a ceremony at sea as symbolic. Almost every couple we work with signs the legal papers at home a few days before or after; the day on the boat then belongs entirely to them, not to bureaucracy. If you want the legal act in Croatia, we hold it in a registry office ashore and keep the boat for the celebration.
How many guests fit on board?
A classic 50–60ft sailing yacht carries 8–12 people for a day. A traditional wooden gulet takes 20–35. For larger groups we run two boats in company or move the ceremony ashore and keep the boat as the celebration space.
What happens if the weather turns?
We plan every boat wedding with a land alternative from the start. Between May and September the Adriatic gives us stable weather windows most of the time, but we make the final call on the morning of the day, together with the captain and you.
Can we combine a few days of sailing with the wedding?
Yes, and this is our favourite format. Boarding on Friday, ceremony on Saturday in a quiet bay, breakfast at anchor on Sunday, home on Monday. It's the version that most feels like a proper trip rather than an event.
